Dear NOF Community,
At the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF), we know that silence can be extremely painful. Osteoporosis is often called a “silent disease” because you may not know you have it until you break a bone. For the many patients who suffer, there is nothing silent about their pain. Therefore, we must speak out and help to educate people to prevent and heal fractures.
It has become abundantly clear in recent months, weeks, and days that our country is fractured. The black community is in pain. We cannot remain silent. We must speak out and help to educate people and to prevent and heal the fractures that divide us.
NOF will not tolerate discrimination in any form whether race, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religious or any other. We recommit ourselves to helping fix what is broken, not just with words, but with our actions.
We will intensify our work to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout our organization and within the healthcare system.
We will continue to diversify our staff and board to include a broader representation of the American population.
We will partner with experts to identify ways we can better serve minority communities with our programs and services.
We will advocate for government policies that improve healthcare for all Americans.
We stand with other organizations, businesses, leaders, and communities to help fix what is broken.
